Referral Process: Anyone can call the RI CAC with questions about referring a victim. Our protocol is for DCYF and/or law enforcement to send over their report. Call 421-4100 x143 to reach the CAC.

Description
Day One is the only agency in Rhode Island that is specifically organized to deal with issues of sexual assault as a community concern. They provide treatment, intervention, education, advocacy, and prevention services to Rhode Islanders of all ages—from preschool children to elder adults. Additionally, we advocate for public policy initiatives and systemic changes that positively impact how Rhode Island families handle sexual abuse cases. Services: Counseling fees are on a sliding scale and are covered by some insurance plans; fees for education and training programs. No fee for advocacy, crisis intervention or Children's Advocacy Center. Provides individual and group counseling for victims of sexual assault and their families. Offers 24-hour hotline, information, advocacy, support, legal assistance and crisis counseling. trained counselors/advocates available to meet victims at hospital, police station and court. Assault Prevention Program offers personal safety programs to students in preschool through college. Day One serves victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and other violent crimes. Services include the 24-hour Victims of Crime Helpline; crisis intervention, individual and group counseling for children and adults, advocacy (including legal advocacy) for victims and their families. Also, the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), the RI Children's Advocacy Center, prevention education and a new Family Foster Care Treatment Program for sexually abused children in foster care and their foster families.

Services include: - The 24-hour Victims of Crime Helpline (1-800-494-8100) - Crisis intervention; individual and group counseling for children and adults - Consultations - Adult advocacy for victims and their families - Legal advocacy through Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) - The Office of Victim Services at the RI Department of Corrections - Law Enforcement Advocates and the RI Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) - Prevention education - Psycho-educational services for incarcerated men and women who are victims of childhood sexual abuse and assault - Foster Healthy Families, a program for sexually abused children in foster care and their foster families.
