Eligibility
RI residents who are not eligible for group sponsored (employer) coverage or federal or state programs (Medicare/Medicaid) can purchase quality health and dental coverage directly from BCBSRI. Health coverage is guaranteed during open enrollment: May 15-June15 for July 1st effective date.
Individuals eligible for Medicaid can enroll in BlueCHiP for RIteCare, which covers medically necessary care that members receive from participating doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers.
BCBSRI offers options for people on Medicare, which includes Plan 65, Blue Medicare RX and BlueCHiP for Medicare.
