There are several goals for the first dental visit. First,
Dr. Drennon and your child need to get properly acquainted. Second, she will monitor tooth and jaw development to get an idea of the child’s overall health history. Third, Dr. Drennon will evaluate the health of the existing teeth and gums. Finally, the dentist aims to answer questions and advise parents on how to implement a good oral care regimen. This “well baby check” for the teeth can establish a dental home and helps ensure that parents learn the tools they'll need to help their children remain cavity-free.
Dental Radiographs(xrays)Dental radiographs, also known as dental X-rays, are important diagnostic tools in pediatric dentistry. Dental radiographs allow the dentist to see and treat problems like childhood cavities, tooth decay, orthodontic misalignment, bone injuries, and bone diseases before they worsen.
Flouride:Topical fluoride varnish can also be applied to the tooth enamel quickly and painlessly during a regular office visit.
