To promote the health and wellness of Rhode Islanders living with disabilities. Provide professional development training and targeted technical assistance for practitioners working with people with disabilities; Provide access to assistive technology. Work with partners to ensure that Rhode Island healthcare facilities are physically accessible to all. Train healthcare providers on how to communicate respectfully and sensitively with patients who have disabilities. Evaluate and monitor health disparities between people with disabilities and the population at-large. Offer internship opportunities to high school students with disabilities. Provides information on prevention and treatment of disabilities for all Rhode Islanders, birth through adult. Promotes wellness and access to care for persons with disabilities.
