To be considered for assistance, a person must be: British, holding a passport of the United Kingdom or its dependencies or a child of such a person, and a resident in one of the six New England states.

Description

The Mission of the British Charitable Society is to provide relief to unfortunate British persons who by the dispensations of Providence may be reduced to poverty, or as emigrants, destitute of information, require the aid of such an institution. The Society raises the funds to fulfill its mission by presenting a range of high quality and highly entertaining events with a distinctly 'British' flavor, which appeal both to its increasingly diverse membership and to corporate sponsors and partners. Emergency Care; the payment of outstanding utility bills or overdue rent on a one-time basis Transitional Support; a small monthly stipend to help with expenses during a temporary downturn in income (usually not exceeding 6 months ) Crisis Transportation; Airfare to the UK for emergencies or permanent resettlement, or to cover car repairs if needed for work
