LMSC provides adults 60+ with programs and benefits. Health and wellness activities are provided to 55+. Social Services provided include: health and prescription benefits check up, Medicare/Medicaid Eligibility Assistance, home and community care options, SNAP, Senior Medical Patrol-SMP, identity fraud and consumer protection, housing options, heating assistance, retirement planning, and living wills and durable power of attorney for health care. Transportation: Free transportation services are offered to Pawtucket residents 55+ on the City's two Senior Shuttles. The Senior Center also schedules trips to a variety of locations including grocery stores, pharmacies, banks and to programs and activities offered at the Senior Center. Meals: Café Dining is available at the Blackstone Health Café. Congregate meals are available for those 60+ and their spouse/partner. A suggested donation of $3 is requested, though no one is refused if they cannot afford that. Guest may dine at $4 per meal. Reservations must be made at least one day in advance (one week for holiday-themed meals). Nutrition Programs: URI SNAP Education provides their "Healthy Living" program, with cooking demonstrations by Farm Fresh RI for those interested in making smart food choices and learning to utilize everyday ingredients in new ways. Both of these nutrition programs are held monthly in the Café on the 3rd floor, following lunch.
