Description
Thundermist Health Center of South County serves medical and dental patients, but also has an expanded set of services that include QuickCare (Thundermist's Walk-In Medical Service Center), WIC, behavioral health counseling, pharmacy assistance, and social services. Dentists and hygienists provide a full range of comprehensive dental services The Community Dental Program uses portable dental equipment and offers services in oral examinations, preventative, hygienic and restorative services and classroom-based oral health education. A dentist and hygienist go to schools, Head Start classrooms, and after-school programs to screen children and then refer them for treatment to the Molar Express or their dental home. Provides a Trans* Health Access Team that provides medical (including gender affirmation), dental and behavioral health care to transgender and gender non-conforming individuals in a primary care setting. A Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI LGBT Safe Zone Provider.

Thundermist provides comprehensive health care services in order to meet the needs of each community, including: - Primary medical care, by board certified staff physicians who carry full hospital admitting privileges in our communities of service. - Dental care by board certified dentists and dental hygienists in our health centers. - Mental health services in a fully integrated model alongside our medical services. - Full in-house pharmacy, through a partnership with CVS/pharmacy, allows patients to take advantage of Section 340B special pricing afforded by the US Public Health Services. CVS pharmacy offers dramatically reduced pricing to our patients at our in-house pharmacy in Woonsocket and at CVS pharmacies located in Wakefield and West Warwick. Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Feeding and Nutrition Program provides food vouchers, allowing them to purchase milk, eggs, cheese, juice and iron fortified cereals and formula. The WIC coordinator provides nutrition education and counseling to all program participants on a monthly basis.
