What's Here
Providing organization
Southern Rhode Island Volunteers
For nearly thirty years, SRIV has been the volunteer resource for Southern Rhode Island, partnering with more than 100 local agencies to fulfill their volunteer recruitment and management needs. Our more than 600 volunteers feed the hungry and house the homeless. When people left homeless by Hurricane Katrina were temporarily relocated to Rhode Island, our volunteers met the stunned survivors as they stepped off the plane, welcomed them to our state, and assisted them in settling in. From the Jonnycake Center to the Red Cross, from the WARM Shelter to the Museum of Primitive Culture, from Habitat for Humanity to the Literacy Volunteers of Washington County, and in so many other organizations, we are making a difference each and every day, one volunteer at a time. SRI volunteers support the missions of these agencies and community needs as varied as education support, community food pantries, homeless shelters, the environment, elder independence support, and much, much more.
