***COVID-19: Extending a program delivering food to more than 1,000 elderly and/or disabled housing authority residents on a monthly basis. The Providence Housing Authority, Department of Resident Services, provides the following services for public housing residents of Providence. (Some of these services can also be accessed by members of the surrounding communities.) • ABE, GED, ESL programs • Job Training • Licensed child care, after school and summer youth programming • Financial Opportunity Center • First Time Home ownership program (Section 8) • Resident Service Coordinator programs (family and high rise residents) • Family Self Sufficiency program (public housing and Section 8)
