The mission of the Rhode Island Contractors' Registration and Licensing Board is to safeguard the consumers rights related to contracted improvements to residential property, while providing a fair and positive environment for the construction industry. The CRLB is an agency within the Department of Business Regulation’s, Division of Building, Design, and Fire Professionals. It is responsible for administrating and enforcing the registration and licensing requirements of certain contractors, and protecting the public by investigating complaints by homeowners and issuing fines and penalties for violations of the general laws, rules, and regulations.
