The Wyatt Detention Facility is a maximum security, 746-bed facility adult detainees who are in the custody of the US Marshal Service (USMS). It is Rhode Island's only adult correction facility to be accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA). The facility is owned and operated by the Central Falls Detention Facility Corporation, a quasi-private corporation made of up a five-member board of directors.

Central Falls Detention Facility Corporation
Created by the Rhode Island General Assembly in June 1991 to design, build, and manage the Wyatt Detention Facility, the first publicly owned and privately operated detention facility in the Northeast. It is a quasi-public adult detention facility designed to function as an economic engine for the city of Central Falls and the state of Rhode Island. The corporation is governed by a five-member Board of Directors appointed by the Mayor of Central Falls. The Board, in turn, appoints the Chief Executive Officer of the corporation who is responsible for overseeing the management and overall operation of the corporation.
