The Barrington Peck Center for Adult Enrichment (formerly the Senior Center) is located in the Lower Level of the Peck Community Center (Public Library building), 281 County Road. Parking and the main entrance are located to the south of the building. The Peck Center is ADA accessible. The Barrington Peck Center for Adult Enrichment provides opportunities for: social and recreational activities, personal enrichment, wellness, advocacy, volunteerism, and information and referral. It is open to any individual 50 years and older or any age adult with disabilities. Membership is no cost for Barrington residents and $12 per year for non-residents. No membership is required to participate in the lunch program. The Peck Center for Adult Enrichment's bus is free and available to Town Senior Citizens on weekdays for transportation to and from the Center, and weekly shopping trips. Reservations must be made 24 hours prior to the day and time transportation is required. Other services include a monthly newsletter, special events, and Medicare & Tax Assistance programs. They also offer an Emergency-Response Dialer Program in cooperation with the Barrington Police and Fire Departments. This is a basic emergency response system for any senior or disabled resident of the Town of Barrington. The system consists of a message base unit (no larger than an answering machine) and a pendant with a call button. Each unit is programmed with a pre-recorded voice message that states your name and address. When the call button on the pendant is activated from any room in your home, it triggers the base unit to dial Barrington emergency personnel automatically. Barrington emergency personnel will then immediately respond to your home. The pendant generally does NOT function outside of the user’s home.
