Description

**Non-profit long-term care advocacy agency, NOT a nursing home. ** Serves Rhode Island’s Long-Term Care Community & Their Families Works to improve the quality of life and health care for those receiving long term care services (nursing homes, assisted living residences, home health care and hospice services). Its role is to monitor long term care and address issues of abuse, neglect and financial exploitation. The staff is also involved in resident and family councils and represents residents in court. Along with a Volunteer Ombudsman Program (VOP), the Alliance provides educational programs to the general public, health care providers and long term care consumers. Building Bridges, an inter-generational Program, brings together school children and nursing home residents to foster sensitivity and understanding between generations. Income Source: Membership contributions, State and federal grants, philanthropic giving, educational seminars, golf tournament and other fund-raising events.
