A non-profit law firm representing clients in matters involving public benefits, health, welfare, family law, domestic violence, education, consumer, tax and employment law matters. RILS is a major provider of free civil legal assistance to low income clients in the State of Rhode Island. A client centered program that seeks to expand its outreach through a collaborative approach to building a "justice community". The agency concentrates on the types of cases that tend to stabilize the family unit in a safe environment. Services range from advice and counsel to direct representation in complex litigation. Cyber Crime: Spotting predatory lending practices and scam alerts - stalking domestic violence - collaboration with RI Bar Association regarding proper foreclosure and loan modifications - legal assistance for financial exploitation for those 60 years or older and have an attorney embedded in the RI Division of Elderly Affairs - Social Worker Services to victims - service to special populations, Native Americans, Latinos, Southeast Asians, - social worker as navigator - repair to poor credit reports getting in the way of employment - legal assistance consumer debt group
