Bringing Families, Schools and the Community Together The Tower Street School Community Center is a set of partnerships between Westerly Public School and other community resources. The Center provides comprehensive programs and activities that promote academic growth, physical health, recreation, vocational training, social and emotional well-being. List of Agency Services - Community Garden - Families Learning Together- family literacy program - Grow and Go Seek nature-based early childhood program - Literacy Volunteers of Washington County - Parents as Teachers - parenting support program for families with young children from the prenatal stage to age five; parent workshops and family events - Summer Learning Program for students entering grades 1-6. - Summer Playground Program for children ages 5 though 12. - Westerly Public Schools Student Registration Office - Westerly High School Cosmetology Program - Westerly High School Transition Program - ages 18 - 21 - Westerly High School Learning Academy- project based learning - Wood River Health Services - WIC Office Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Feeding and Nutrition Program provides food vouchers, allowing them to purchase milk, eggs, cheese, juice and iron fortified cereals and formula. The WIC coordinator provides nutrition education and counseling to all program participants on a monthly basis.
