COVID-19: Staff is communicating at this time via phone, text, and video to continue to deliver core services and meet client needs. We are holding phone and video conference meetings with managers, case workers, support staff, team members, and board members to keep the lines of communication open and manage our operations. Anyone visiting our office locations in Newport or Warren will be directed via signage to call our Domestic Violence Crisis Support and Shelter Hotline phone numbers. Our website and social media platforms have the support and hotline phone numbers prominently displayed and communicated, and direct anyone in danger to call 911.

Operates 24-hour hotline, provides emergency shelter to battered women; advocacy; crisis intervention counseling; support groups; educational programs; children's program; school based programs; information/referral services. Speakers Bureau. Setup: 3 Rooms Up to 10 people NOT Handicapped accessible Single (may be shared) and double rooms Services Available: Case Management Spanish speaking staff available Crisis intervention and support groups Domestic violence support and education Transitional housing Housing search Vocation/Education/Employment Budgeting Child advocacy and children's counseling Meals: Residents are required to prepare their own family's food Kitchen equipment and storage space available for use Food assistance available on an emergency basis only Important Policies: Curfew: 7:30PM for families/8:00PM for single women Duration of stay: 30 days with possible extension Must save 30% of income Smoking allowed in designated outdoor area; last smoke break 9:00PM Drug/Alcohol free environment Children must be supervised at all times by parent Must follow case plan and shelter policies Must participate in house chores assigned

The purpose of the Women's Resource Center (WRC) is to empower victims of domestic violence and their children through individual and social change. Education, support and advocacy programs are offered to assist victims to gain control of their lives, exercising their right to live without fear in their own homes.
