Supports seniors in their efforts to stay out of long term care facilities, maintain their health and enjoy life. Program participants access health, wellness and educational activities, meals, transportation information, volunteer opportunities, supportive services, counseling, trips and social events. Their program incorporates the best practices of multi purpose senior centers that are designed to provide holistic comprehensive services. Fully handicapped accessible. A daily catered congregate lunch is provided. Case management services are offered, providing referrals to social services and food assistance through Capital City's Food Pantry. A walk-in Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program operates during tax season to provide low- and middle-income individuals and families with assistance in filing taxes. Serves seniors from Smith Hill, Valley, Mount Pleasant, Wanskuck and Elmhurst neighborhoods of Providence.
