Eligibility
Must complete Pre-Education credits, and 5 hours of Continuing education every registration period. If company is a corporation, must be valid with RI Secretary of State.
Required documents
New Registrants: Application and Signed Statement, filing fee, proof of completed Pre-Education credits, and Certificate of Liability Insurance. Renewing Registrants: renewal Form, filing fee, proof of completed Continuing Education credits, and Certificate of Liability Insurance.

Application process
Call or go online to search the registry for a contractor.
To File a Claim: Complete sign and return claim form with copies of all relevant documentation including, but not limited to written contract and agreements, Invoices, Billings, Estimates, Photos, Receipts, Canceled checks, Time cards or other payroll data, Court Adjudication or binding arbitration data, Notices of counter claims by registrants.
To Register as a contractor: Complete application and signed statement (if renewing, complete renewal form instead) and return with filing fee, proof of completed Pre-Education/ Continuing Education credits, and Certificate of Liability Insurance.

The mission of the Rhode Island Contractors' Registration and Licensing Board is to safeguard the consumers rights related to contracted improvements to residential property, while providing a fair and positive environment for the construction industry.
The CRLB is an agency within the Department of Business Regulation’s, Division of Building, Design, and Fire Professionals. It is responsible for administrating and enforcing the registration and licensing requirements of certain contractors, and protecting the public by investigating complaints by homeowners and issuing fines and penalties for violations of the general laws, rules, and regulations.
