State Office of Healthy Aging: Offers a wide range of programs and opportunities that promote health and nurture connection. They work at the systems level to make Rhode Island more age- and life-friendly through investments in infrastructure, workforce, and community networks. • At-home companionship for people age 55 or older with limited mobility • Bridging the digital divide for older Rhode Islanders • Chronic-disease management education • Community and home-delivered meals • Elder abuse, neglect, financial exploitation and self-neglect reporting • Family supports, including respite care • Free healthcare insurance counseling • In-home and day-care cost assistance • Free and reduced legal services • Prescription drug cost assistance • Transportation assistance • Mental health/substance use support • Senior and community center programs • Volunteer Guardianship Program - provides court appoint health-care decision makers for low income elders & adults with disabilities who have no family/friends who can assist. They also connect people to the Point to get info & help 24/7 at 401-462-4444 or 2-1-1 anytime.
