Women, Infants and Children (WIC)is a supplemental feeding and nutrition program that helps pregnant women, new moms, infants, and children up to the age of 5 to stay healthy. They provide a monthly food package of nutritious foods. The WIC coordinator provides nutrition education and counseling to all program participants on a monthly basis. Breastfeeding education and support as well as access to community resources is also provided.

Westbay Community Action is a charitable organization serving the people of Kent County. They help with food, utilities, health, safety, and education. West Bay CAP provides a variety of resources to individuals, families, and seniors in need. Emergency and Case Management services provide intakes, Senior Services Case Management by their Elder Case Management Team), and supportive housing (subsidized rental units with case management services). Food services include holiday programs, intake, congregate meals for seniors and disabled adults, Westbay Marketplace food pantry and WIC (Women, Infants and Children monthly food package and nutrition counseling to pregnant women, new moms and infants and children up to age 5 years old). Home and Utilities services provided include: Good Neighbor Energy Fund, Lead Center, LIHEAP heating assistance, Low Income Household Water Assistance, supportive housing subsidized rental units with case management, and weatherization home energy programs. Senior services include: the RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer) Program which matches senior volunteers with nonprofits; congregate senior dining program serving weekday hot lunches to seniors and disabled adults; Senior Information and Safety Programs (health and safety) and case management services. Westbay also offers VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) which provides free basic tax preparation for low- to moderate-income households.
