Services: Variety of workshops for the general public; law-related education, K-12 students. Speakers Bureau; Lawyers Fund for client reimbursements; client/lawyer fee arbitration; public service brochures.
-Lawyer Referral Service/Reduced Fee Program
Provides reduced fee legal assistance to income eligible clients. $25 referral fee, reduced fees for additional legal services subject to arrangement between client and attorney. Cyber Crime referrals: Consumer Fraud, Cyber Stalking, Social Media.
-Referral Services for the Elderly
Free initial consultation up to thirty (30) minutes. Reduced fee services for moderate income seniors. Pro bono services for low income seniors. Assists elderly persons obtain quality legal information and help. Age Detail: 60 years and older
-Volunteer Lawyer Program
No fee for legal services. Client may be required to pay court fees or other litigation costs. Provides legal assistance to low income clients who cannot obtain legal representation either on their own or through other existing agencies. Over 1000 private attorneys located throughout the state volunteer for this program. Priorities include housing, bankruptcy, consumer education and family law. Fee generating cases not accepted. Income must qualify under federally regulated guidelines to be eligible. Client's legal problem must be a civil court matter and fall within specific categories.
-US Armed Forced Legal Services
Provides legal assistance to active and reserve military personnel, family members of Reserve Component members undergoing pre-mobilization legal preparation, military retirees or those receiving disability and their family members, and surviving family members of all the groups noted above.
