Support group for people who want to stop eating compulsively. Members help each other to lose weight and keep it off, share experiences and support each other's abstinence from overeating. Ocean & Bay Intergroup services members throughout Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts and Southeastern Connecticut. Ocean & Bay Intergroup of Overeaters Anonymous (OA) offers a program of recovery from compulsive eating — which includes obesity, anorexia and bulimia — using the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of OA. Meetings, as well as other tools provide a fellowship of experience, strength, and hope where members respect one anothers anonymity. OA charges no dues or fees; it is self-supporting through member contributions. Unlike other organizations, OA is not just about weight loss, gain or maintenance; or obesity or diets. It addresses physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. It is not a religious organization and does not promote any particular diet. Ocean and Bay OA offer a range of meetings in person, by phone, on zoom and even some hybrid meetings. The full list can be found on their website: https://oceanandbay.org/meetings. Click on the individual event listing for further details about the meeting you are interested in and how to join. You do not have to register to attend an OA meeting.
