Rhode Island Housing is one of 26 RI Public Housing Authorities that funds and administers over 20 programs in smaller towns throughout Rhode Island to help low and moderate income Rhode Islanders buy, rent or find shelter in safe, decent and affordable housing. RI Housing has issued over 47,000 mortgages to first time home buyers among consumer programs. RI Housing also oversees the management of 13,000 of subsidized rental housing for low income individuals.
