Call to Register COVID-19: Center for Southeast Asians is currently suspending all direct service programs to clients. Our staff is working remotely and we can be reached via our 24-hour line at 401-871-5633. Due to the challenging circumstances facing our community, we cannot predict the timeline when we will fully operate. We will wait and monitor the decision from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the governor, and the R.I. Department of Health. Our community health and wellbeing is our utmost priority.

Description

The mission of the Center for Southeast Asians (CSEA) is to promote the prosperity, heritage and leadership of Southeast Asians in Rhode Island They assist new Americans in the areas of social and economic independence and creating greater access to education and healthcare services. They can provide: translator services; free tax preparation; interpreting services, job training, English/ESL classes, health insurance navigation; tobacco and substance abuse information; and more. SEDC's social service programs include: Affordable Care Act (ACA), Meal Café, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program); Southeast Asian Elder Advancement Program; assistance with transitional housing management; and case management. Social Services in Providence include: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance; Victim's Assistance Program; Affordable Care Act; and Meals on Wheels and SNAP referrals. Their International Language Bank provides fee-for-service, 24/7 translation and interpretation in over 40 languages.
