Description

Eastman House was an independent non-profit treatment agency for adult women before joining the Caritas organization in 1998. Since the merge, Eastman House implemented two continuing care components. Aftercare and The 4th Stage, provide case management, support, education, job training and life skills that enable Eastman House clients to re-enter society in a successful and structured format. Eastman House is similarly designed to accommodate the needs of adult women for up to 90 days. Group and individual therapy are offered daily, as well as seminars in HIV/AIDS, other related health issues, trauma groups, smoking cessation, social skills, job search and interviewing skills, recovery and relapse prevention. Case management and intense discharge planning focusing on basic social and daily living skills and referral to appropriate health and mental health providers. Presentations for high school groups, etc: HIV/AIDS, Substance Abuse, STD's, Decision Making. Income Source: R.I. Division of Substance Abuse; fees; fund raising.
