Description
The purpose of the Rhode Island Organizing Project (RIOP) is to promote justice and the common good. RIOP trains leaders to be active in their communities around the issues that are important to them. RIOP leaders are trained to choose winnable issues, involve people from their congregations, and work with public and private officials. Since its founding in 1993, RIOP has advocated for affordable housing, after school programs, job training and neighborhood improvements.
