Description
A free program, co-sponsored by the RI Department of Transportation and funded by the Federal Highway Administration, Commuter Resource RI offers one stop shopping for your commuting needs. CRRI provides transportation information and services to Rhode Island corporations and employees in order to: reduce single occupant vehicle trips, increase high occupancy vehicle (HOV) commuting, reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality and maximize use of public transit. This program offers free comprehensive, customized information to individual commuters on commuting options, including carpooling, vanpooling, public transit, rail transportation, biking and walking plus route planning.

RIPTA Rhode Island Public Transit Authority
Provides public bus transportation throughout the state. Maintains and operates buses, some with wheelchair lifts for handicapped persons. Publishes bus schedules. Issues identification cards for seniors and handicapped. *** Low income persons with a disability or age 65 and above may ride free of charge with a RIPTA NO FARE ID PASS. All other persons age 65 and above or with a disability pay full fare during RIPTA peak hours of service (7:00AM - 9:00AM and 3:00PM - 6:00PM on weekdays) and pay 1/2 fare all other times upon presentation of a RIPTA Senior/Disabled ID Pass or a Medicare ID Card.
