Description
Currently home to the Samaritans Arts Gallery. The Baker-Hanley House is the oldest structure on the historic common that is now Wilkinson Park. The five-bay brick Federal-style house was remodeled in 1949. The society has self guided tours of Pawtucket neighborhoods. The Gallery is located in the restored historic Baker-Hanley House (c.1823). Listening Beyond Words is a community-based learning opportunity program offered by The Samaritans of Rhode Island in effort to increase awareness of the importance of nonjudgmental listening at home, at work and in the community. The class is 1.5 hours long, and taught by staff and senior volunteers for up to 20 people per session.

Safe Place, is a peer to peer support group, facilitated by senior Samaritan of RI volunteers for those who have lost loved ones to suicide. Safe Place meets at the First Unitarian Church Community Center, 1 Benevolent Street, Providence RI 02906. Training in crisis intervention, suicide prevention and communications skills.
