Hospital charity care requirements cover those essential services necessary to diagnose, correct, or cure a medical condition that endangers life, causes pain and suffering, results in illness or infirmity, or causes a physical deformity or malfunction. Both inpatient and outpatient services are included.
To receive full charity care, patients annual family income must be up to and including 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. For partial charity care, patients annual family income must be between 200% and 300% of the Federal Poverty Level may receive assistance based on a sliding scale. In addition to income, hospitals have the option to consider other assets. Also must be denied from Medicaid first depending on income. Patients who get accepted will receive financial aid for a year.

Works to improve the quality of life and health care for those receiving long term care services (nursing homes, assisted living residences, home health care and hospice services). Its role is to monitor long term care and address issues of abuse, neglect and financial exploitation. The staff is also involved in resident and family councils and represents residents in court.
Along with a Volunteer Ombudsman Program (VOP), the Alliance provides educational programs to the general public, health care providers and long term care consumers.
Building Bridges, an inter-generational Program, brings together school children and nursing home residents to foster sensitivity and understanding between generations.
The Alliance works with individuals receiving long term care services to improve their environment while maintaining respect, personal dignity, and human choice.
