New Urban Arts is a nationally-recognized community arts studio for high school students and emerging artists in Providence, Rhode Island. Our mission is to build a vital community that empowers young people as artists and leaders to develop a creative practice they can sustain throughout their lives. The free, year-round out-of-school programs promote sustained mentoring relationships between urban high school students and trained artist mentors—who, together, engage in youth leadership, risk taking, collaboration, and self-directed learning. We are grounded in the belief that in order to fulfill the promise of our democracy, all young people, no matter their place in society, should have the opportunity to become more creative and independent thinkers.

PawsWatch is a 100% volunteer organization with no paid staff or employees that provides veterinary care and shelter to improve the lives of feral and unowned cats. PawsWatch advocates and practices the internationally recognized Trap-Neuter-Release-Monitor protocol as the only humane solution to the state's feral cat challenge. PawsWatch does not operate a physical shelter, but instead has different chapters operating throughout Rhode Island.

Project RESPECT (formerly Anytown) has been engaging young people through a process of self-discovery and intentional community building. Designed as a residential leadership institute for young people, Project RESPECT is a life-changing experience for students ready to explore their identities and challenge their privilege. Over the course of the week, delegates dive into issues of privilege and oppression; forge life-long friendships; build confidence; and learn what it takes to create a world that is open and accepting of all cultures, ethnic groups, faiths/religions, and genders.

Housing programs that make rental housing more readily available to homeless people and/or low-income individuals and families (those below 50% of the area's median income). Some complexes or housing units may be reserved for low-income older adults, people with disabilities and/or other special populations.

Programs that provide ground vehicles which transport acutely ill or injured individuals to health care facilities for treatment or from one health care facility to another for specialized care. Ambulances are equipped and staffed to provide medical care during transit and, in communities where the municipality contracts with the company as their emergency medical service provider, are dispatched when residents contact 911 with a medical emergency, not accessed directly. Depending on the terms of the contract, the ambulance company may be the municipality's primary first responder, may serve in a backup capacity when the city's service is busy or may handle the transport component of the service while the city's paramedic/EMT service functions as the first responder. Ambulance companies may also provide emergency transport for people who want to go somewhere other than where the municipality's emergency medical service is authorized to take them.

A collaborative group of local comprehensive and specialized information and referral providers who have agreed to coordinate information and referral service delivery to provide seamless access to information about community resources via the three digit number assigned for this purpose, 211. Depending on the size and nature of the community, 211 systems may consist of only a few organizations that provide information and referral or may include a diverse array of organizations that furnish some type of I&R. Some of these organizations may supply a very specialized type of I&R service (e.g., for people with disabilities or older adults), while others may provide a comprehensive range of assistance. The coordination of all I&R services and programs within a community and, where relevant, beyond, constitutes the 211 system.

The mission of the Rhode Island Revolver and Rifle Association is to promote and encourage all phases of shooting sports within the State of Rhode Island; to foster a climate within the State of Rhode Island which encourages ownership and legal use of all legal types of firearms by the law abiding citizens of the state; to encourage and promote legislation to preserve the legal ownership and use of firearms for all law abiding citizens of the State of Rhode Island; to encourage and promote firearm safety and education within the State of Rhode Island; to conduct contests of marksmanship with firearms.

Parents As Teachers (PAT) is a program that provides access to resources within our community. PAT is a home visiting program designed to provide all parents of children from prenatal to age five with the information and support they need to give their child the best possible start in life.
