Programs that offer any of a variety of therapeutic approaches which are intended to maximize the existing cognitive functioning of people who have Alzheimer's disease, Pick's disease or other forms of cognitive impairment. Interventions include structured activities and exercises that are designed for people who have a short attention span and require extra verbal and visual stimulation with the objective of enhancing the individual's perception of the environment, promoting trust, reducing anxiety, avoiding overstimulation and maximizing communication skills.

Pawtuxet Valley Urgent Care is a medical practice providing prompt treatment of all non-life-threatening acute injuries and illnesses for patients of all ages on a walk-in basis. Providers include Physicians, Physician Assistants and Family Nurse Practitioners. Areas of expertise include: Cuts, sprains, and strains; Minor traumas; Cold and Flu; Headache; School and sports physicals; PPD and Vaccine titer testing; Infections; Vaccines (including Flu, Pneumonia, Hepatitis). On-site x-ray and lab services.

Services: Houses 29 families and 8 women daily. Shelter stays are limited to 90 days but can be renewed based on progress demonstrated by participants or impending permanent housing. Case managers assist participants with healthcare, employment and establishing permanent housing. Help also available for: mental health issues, addiction, developmental delays in children, parenting and domestic violence. Case managers access services directly through Family Resources Community Action Program or collaborative agreements with other local non profit organizations.

Head Start programs provide a learning environment that supports children's growth in many areas such as language, literacy, and social and emotional development. Head Start emphasizes the role of parents as their child's first and most important teacher. These programs help build relationships with families that support family well-being and many other important areas.

High School Equivalency(GED) and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Tutoring is available upon request and the ability to match a tutor with the students needs. A dropout prevention program is available for students that are in jeopardy of dropping out of school. A case management approach addresses family as well as student needs. If you have not finished high school, you can prepare yourself to take the General Education Development Test (GED) by taking Pre-GED or GED Classes at the Center. If you need to work on your English reading, writing, or language skills, you can also take an English for speakers of other languages (ESOL). There is also an accredited college course you can take at the Center if you are considering a college degree. Several personal enrichment courses are also held during the year. Special classes such as Italian, Art, Line Dancing are offered periodically.

Foundations Academy (formerly the Regional Alternative Program): Provides special needs students - diagnosed with behavioral and emotional disorders - with an alternative to traditional schools. Foundations Academy (formerly the Specialized Alternative Program): Students who learn differently and have different abilities need the help and guidance of educators who are specially trained to develop and maximize those abilities. Founded in 1971, CODAC Behavioral Healthcare is Rhode Island’s oldest and largest non-profit, outpatient provider of treatment for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). With seven community-based locations, as well as programming at the Rhode Island Department of Corrections (RI DOC), CODAC is well-positioned to deliver services wherever they are needed across the state. CODAC offers psychiatric and mental health services at all of their locations. After an initial intake screening you may be referred to an on-site psychiatric practitioner for further evaluation and treatment. Individualized treatment and recovery plans might include medication management supervised by the psychiatric practitioner and ongoing co-occurring counseling with clinical staff. It is not unusual to have both mental health disorders and a substance use disorder. Because the two conditions are so closely linked, CODAC has responded to offer you effective treatment and recovery programs to address both disorders concurrently.
