Richmond Animal Control Division handles approximately 75 calls-for-service per month, which often vary from noise complaints to animal "at large" violations, to animal bite complaints, and several other enforcement related duties. Complaints and calls concerning domesticated animals are received at Richmond Police Department, which serves as dispatch for Animal Control. Non-emergency calls received after-hours are referred to the next Animal Control Officer to return to duty. The Animal Control Division also provides temporary shelter, feeding, care and medical treatment for impounded animals, and routinely facilitated adoptions to place abandoned, neglected, or unwanted animals in the care of willing and capable pet owners who are eager to provide the pet a safe and nurturing home environment.

The Bristol Division of Emergency Management Services implements policies related to hazard mitigation and emergency management programs and activities. The EMA also has general supervision of all civil preparedness duties. Shelter Locations Bristol Emergency Shelters are located at the Quinta-Gamelin Community Center on Asylum Rd. and Mt. Hope High School on Chestnut St.. During emergencies the public will be notified of the primary shelter for the event occurring at that time.

Substance Abuse Counseling, counselors work to develop a treatment plan tailored to each individual's needs. We offer individual, group, and family counseling. Topics addressed include feelings and emotions, life skills, relapse prevention, addiction education, anger management, relationships, health issues, and other topics vital to recovery.

Assisted Daily Living, Inc. provides clients with a wide array of services designed to ensure superior patient care in the familiar comfort of home, often providing a happier and more affordable alternative to nursing, or assisted living facilities. Services can be arranged for a few hours a week or around the clock. ADL begins by reviewing the specific needs of the client through discussions with family members, as well as the care recipient's doctor, social workers or therapists. A customized program of care is developed to manage the client's daily needs. ADL will match the clients needs to the best possible caregiver, based on both professional experience and on ability characteristics. THERAPIST'S - PT, OT, ST: Therapists including physical therapists, occupational and speech therapists assist in the rehabilitation of those with physical injuries or disease. Restoration of mobility, strength, dexterity, balance and communication skills is often the purpose for therapy. Helping individuals who are disabled by physical injuries or disease to regain maximum function with activities of daily living is always a main priority.

Federal program that provides a box of nutritious shelf stable foods to seniors’ age 60+ who have an income at or lower than 130FPL.

“Project Broken Wheel” refurbishes bicycles given to us from local Police Departments and the community. The donated bikes get seat replacements, tires repaired, chains fixed, reflectors placed on tires/front & back of bike, and even touch up paint and some TLC and the bikes look close to brand new with a holiday bow

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Feeding and Nutrition Program provides food vouchers, allowing them to purchase milk, eggs, cheese, juice and iron fortified cereals and formula. The WIC coordinator provides nutrition education and counseling to all program participants on a monthly basis.

The Health access program is designed to provide low to moderate income Scituate residents with primary medical and dental care. There are other programs such as community flu clinics, programs for new and expectant families, nursing services, and Health Information Services.

Broadway Plaza is subsidized housing with 16 one bedroom, 69 two bedroom and 12 three bedroom apartments.

J. F. Kennedy Manor is subsidized housing, 62+, handicapped or disabled.

The Center has an active tissue typing laboratory which supports bone marrow transplantation and parentage testing. The Rhode Island Blood Center is a donor center for the National Marrow Donor Program and has an active Pheresis Program.
