The East Bay Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Program helps Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries prevent, detect, and report health care fraud. SMP not only protects seniors, it also helps to preserve the integrity of the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Senior Medicare Patrol staff and volunteers work with beneficiaries to: -Review their Medicare Summary Notices for accuracy -Protect their identity -Identify and report errors on their health care bills -Identify deceptive health care practices, such as illegal marketing, providing unnecessary or inappropriate services, and charging for services that were not provided -SMP also conducts informational sessions for seniors about avoiding Medicare and Medicaid scams.

134 Collaborative provides basic toiletries, used clothing and emergency bus tickets, as available, to those who are homeless, low income or attend programs on site. Public bathrooms are open to all when the building is open.

Dorcas International is currently the only agency in Rhode Island that is authorized by the U.S. Department of State to resettle refugees arriving to the U.S. From airport pick-up to securing housing, providing cultural orientation and intensive case management, health screenings, and enrolling children in school and adults in our in-house Educating and Training Program, we serve the immediate needs of resettled refugees. Our goal is to empower recently arrived refugees by providing them with the necessary tools and information to successfully transition into their new communities. The U.S. government places refugees in 49 states by working with none private non-profit national agencies, and Dorcas International is an affiliate partner of one of these official agencies.

Vanderburgh House's Rogers Home sober houses offers important services to individuals in early recovery. When leaving treatment, many men have limited options, independent living is difficult, and sober housing offers an attractive alternative to many options available. Offers a structured sober hous for men where every resident is supported in their recovery journeys. Residents live together as a family to develop the tools and strengthen their character in order to live free from substance abuse. Home allows for independence while guided by a set of recovery-focused house rules, standards, and expectations. The core of Vanderburgh structure is abstinence from drugs and alcohol. Residents are engaged in their personal recovery journey by attending meetings and working with a sponsor and a House Manager for support and encouragement. Residents adhere to a curfew, submit to drug and alcohol screenings, and participate in home and community events. Residents live independently in a gender-specific home Rooms are typically shared with one or more peers Residents pay rent weekly or monthly; doesn't accept health insurance Each home is lead by a House Manager Homes are convenient, comfortable, affordable, and supportive Residents live according to Resident Handbook and House Rules

Empowering people to effect change in policies concerning jobs, welfare reform, child care, health care, nutrition programs, WIC, food stamps and transportation. Membership program, R.I. Oak Street Health provides transportation to and from appointments.

Located at the Exeter Chapel. The Exeter Emergency Food Bank (501c3) is separate from the Social Services Dept. However, because it is staffed by volunteers, anyone needing assistance is asked to call the Social Services department to schedule a time to pick up food. Appointments are made for Wednesday mornings beginning at 9 am or Wednesday afternoons. Emergency situations will open the food bank as needed. Donations to the Food Bank can be dropped off at Town Hall or at the Exeter Public Library. Thanksgiving/Winter Holiday baskets and toy distribution for area residents.

St. Ann’s is an affordable apartment community offering one, two, and three bedroom apartment homes for rent. The interior of each apartment home has been newly remodeled, including kitchens equipped with energy efficient appliances, community laundry facilities.

Chad Brown is located adjacent to the Admiral Terrace development in the city’s Wanskuck neighborhood, and the two (along with a senior/disabled development on-site called Sunset Village) are collectively referred to as “Chad Brown”. Admiral Terrace was completed in 1951 and, along with Chad Brown, underwent a $16.5 million modernization project from 1986 to 1989. More recently, the on-site community center was renovated and an outdoor tot lot was installed. The community center has a gym, offices, meeting/activity rooms and a computer center. Admiral Terrace is comprised of 2 story brick row-house buildings with units ranging in size from two to four bedrooms.

Programs within the formal criminal justice system that provide facilities for the detention of people who have been charged with a crime and are awaiting trial, and/or the confinement, treatment, employment, training and discipline of people who have been sentenced to imprisonment after conviction for a criminal offense.

Project Undercover – Over 45,000 kids in Rhode Island don’t have access to clean, new underwear, socks, or diapers. Project Undercover provides these necessities to families living in poverty by engaging with the community, increasing public awareness, and partnering with other agencies for the betterment of all children.

They have a SHINE volunteer counselor to assist individuals and couples turning 65 or older with information on Medicare and appropriate health insurance programs for their needs and related health insurance matters. They have rotating local attorneys providing complimentary appointments one time per month, resource information for caregiving, and monthly appointments with the Town Nurse to check your blood pressure or assist with other questions. They also offer monthly appointments with providers in Reflexology, Reiki, Footcare and Manicures and Pedicures for a modest cost.

Acute Stabilization Unit The ASU, as we call it, provides short term, residential services for the person who is having a mental health and/or substance abuse emergency, but who does not need hospitalization. Referrals are made through our Emergency Services Team, hospitals and other sources. You’ll get care and guidance from our skilled counselors in a safe, supportive setting. Opioid Treatment Center of Excellence We believe that treatment works. Meet with a Peer Specialist who will walk you through the steps to getting help with opioid addiction. Outpatient Counseling Services Counseling is provided in an office-setting for addictions, including problem gambling. Our supportive services can become a part of your safety net after discharge as well. Riveredge Village Apartments is a 6 story, 99 unit Section 8 Elderly apartment building located on the Providence/Johnston, RI border. There are 89 one bedrooms with one bath and 10 two bedrooms with one bath.
