The East Bay Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Program helps Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries prevent, detect, and report health care fraud. SMP not only protects seniors, it also helps to preserve the integrity of the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Senior Medicare Patrol staff and volunteers work with beneficiaries to: -Review their Medicare Summary Notices for accuracy -Protect their identity -Identify and report errors on their health care bills -Identify deceptive health care practices, such as illegal marketing, providing unnecessary or inappropriate services, and charging for services that were not provided -SMP also conducts informational sessions for seniors about avoiding Medicare and Medicaid scams.

Dorcas International is currently the only agency in Rhode Island that is authorized by the U.S. Department of State to resettle refugees arriving to the U.S. From airport pick-up to securing housing, providing cultural orientation and intensive case management, health screenings, and enrolling children in school and adults in our in-house Educating and Training Program, we serve the immediate needs of resettled refugees. Our goal is to empower recently arrived refugees by providing them with the necessary tools and information to successfully transition into their new communities. The U.S. government places refugees in 49 states by working with none private non-profit national agencies, and Dorcas International is an affiliate partner of one of these official agencies.

Vanderburgh House's Rogers Home sober houses offers important services to individuals in early recovery. When leaving treatment, many men have limited options, independent living is difficult, and sober housing offers an attractive alternative to many options available. Offers a structured sober hous for men where every resident is supported in their recovery journeys. Residents live together as a family to develop the tools and strengthen their character in order to live free from substance abuse. Home allows for independence while guided by a set of recovery-focused house rules, standards, and expectations. The core of Vanderburgh structure is abstinence from drugs and alcohol. Residents are engaged in their personal recovery journey by attending meetings and working with a sponsor and a House Manager for support and encouragement. Residents adhere to a curfew, submit to drug and alcohol screenings, and participate in home and community events. Residents live independently in a gender-specific home Rooms are typically shared with one or more peers Residents pay rent weekly or monthly; doesn't accept health insurance Each home is lead by a House Manager Homes are convenient, comfortable, affordable, and supportive Residents live according to Resident Handbook and House Rules

Located at the Exeter Chapel. The Exeter Emergency Food Bank (501c3) is separate from the Social Services Dept. However, because it is staffed by volunteers, anyone needing assistance is asked to call the Social Services department to schedule a time to pick up food. Appointments are made for Wednesday mornings beginning at 9 am or Wednesday afternoons. Emergency situations will open the food bank as needed. Donations to the Food Bank can be dropped off at Town Hall or at the Exeter Public Library. Thanksgiving/Winter Holiday baskets and toy distribution for area residents.

Chad Brown is located adjacent to the Admiral Terrace development in the city’s Wanskuck neighborhood, and the two (along with a senior/disabled development on-site called Sunset Village) are collectively referred to as “Chad Brown”. Admiral Terrace was completed in 1951 and, along with Chad Brown, underwent a $16.5 million modernization project from 1986 to 1989. More recently, the on-site community center was renovated and an outdoor tot lot was installed. The community center has a gym, offices, meeting/activity rooms and a computer center. Admiral Terrace is comprised of 2 story brick row-house buildings with units ranging in size from two to four bedrooms.

Outpatient Counseling Services Counseling is provided in an office-setting for addictions, including problem gambling. Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Our new Rise to Recovery PHP program helps individuals and family members recover from the negative consequences and life issues associated with substance use and addiction. Residential Substance Use Treatment Treatment and around-the-clock support provides men with the opportunity to focus on their recovery from chemical dependency. Our supportive services can become a part of your safety net after discharge as well.
