Tri-County Community Action Agency offers assistance with all aspects of essential needs and daily living, including food assistance. We welcome individuals to visit our food pantries once per month, and offer distribution of canned goods, pasta, grain, juice, peanut butter, rice and flour and other foods as contributed through the State of Rhode Island and purchased through the Rhode Island Food Bank. Jamestown Emergency Management Agency, in partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Health and Rhode Island Emergency Management, implements policies related to hazard mitigation and emergency management programs and activities. The EMA also has general supervision of all civil preparedness duties and performs any other duties as assigned by the Town Manager. Jamestown EMA staff is trained to distribute medical supplies, food and water at times when it may be required. Shelter: Melrose School, located at 76 Melrose Ave will be operational and staffed in partnership with the Rhode Red Cross at anytime that residents may be required to leave their homes. The staff at the shelter is trained to provide basic needs including food, water and medical treatment. Pets may also be sheltered at the Lawn Avenue School during these events.

The Rhode Island Vehicle Inspection Program exists to ensure that the vehicles operating on the Rhode Island roadways are safe and environmentally clean. South County Health’s accredited medical laboratory provides diagnostic laboratory testing, and phlebotomy services for outpatients. Under certain circumstances, home draw services for homebound patients may also be available. South County Health operates six outpatient laboratory testing sites throughout southern Rhode Island. No appointment is necessary.

A 265-acre property, a house built in 1796, which today is a working family farm. During open hours, take a self-guided walking tour, participate in an outdoor workshop, explore farm fields with grazing livestock, stroll along the shore, and view seasonal farm activities. Using innovative sustainable practices, the managers of Watson Farm continue the tradition of pastoral husbandry, grazing Heritage Red Devon cattle and sheep on the scenic seaside pastures. The farmers produce 100% grass-fed beef and lamb and wool blankets for local markets. The house, still used as the farmers’ residence, is not open to the public.
