Part of Community Care Alliance, the Agape Center is a community based HIV/AIDS support and resource center whose mission is to provide services, resources, and advocacy for persons living with or affected by HIV/AIDS and to promote community awareness and prevention of the disease. Their Agape Drop-In Center provides resources in a safe, confidential setting where people living with HIV/AIDS are treated with dignity and respect. The UCP Rhode Island Children & Family Services program provides services to children with disabilities and their families under Rhode Island�s Home Based Therapeutic Services Program (HBTS). Medicaid eligible children (up to age 21) are provided comprehensive periodic evaluations to supplement the treatment of various medical conditions. Works with families to develop service plans for their children and assists the families to secure HBTS funding. Once a plan is approved, UCPRI provides case management and services, therapies, and training for the child and family. The object is to apply individualized services that permit the child to live at home and take an active part in school and community. UCPRI�s services may help relieve some of the financial strains that make raising a child with disabilities so stressful to both the family and child. Other Children & Family Services:

• CAP (Community Activities Project) provides financial support enabling children with disabilities to participate in community and recreational activities.

Provides information, referral and advocacy to families with children who have special needs. UCPRI will assist families in identifying their needs (home health care, learning, recreation) and work with them to secure funding. Adult Education: UCP Rhode Island�s Adult Education Community Classrooms meet throughout RI. Instruction is individualized, based on the personal learning goals of each student. Most classes meet for 3 hours a week for 12 weeks. Services are delivered by an integrated multi-disciplinary team of Community Care Services professionals, including social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, experienced management staff, and a network of specially trained foster parents. Foster parent to client ratio in intensive foster care is 1:1 at all times. At least one foster parent is always home to provide adequate supervision. CFP joined a network of agencies, called The Care Management Network, working together to provide a full scope of services to RI youth and families.

Richmond Animal Control Division handles approximately 75 calls-for-service per month, which often vary from noise complaints to animal "at large" violations, to animal bite complaints, and several other enforcement related duties. Complaints and calls concerning domesticated animals are received at Richmond Police Department, which serves as dispatch for Animal Control. Non-emergency calls received after-hours are referred to the next Animal Control Officer to return to duty. The Animal Control Division also provides temporary shelter, feeding, care and medical treatment for impounded animals, and routinely facilitated adoptions to place abandoned, neglected, or unwanted animals in the care of willing and capable pet owners who are eager to provide the pet a safe and nurturing home environment.

The Providence Preservation Society (PPS) was established to respond to the proposed demolition of a number of 18th- and early 19th-century houses on College Hill.
