Patient travel resources for help with free medical air transportation. If a patient travel distance is 1000 miles or less, the services of a volunteer pilot organization flying for public benefit will be the referral. These organizations provide no-cost private or corporate aircraft travel for the patient and accompanying family member(s). Often a patient is flown to treatment location one day and then brought back home the next day to a week or two later.

DSSRI offers free New Parent Baskets to new Down syndrome families, which includes books about Down syndrome, pamphlets, toys, and something for mom and dad to help celebrate their new little one. DSSRI also serves as a resource for professionals interested in parental concerns. We provide speakers to schools, colleges, professional organizations and civic/ fraternal groups. Eligibility: To be eligible for services, you must be visually impaired, with acuity of 20/60 or less in the better eye with correction, or a field loss of twenty degrees or less in the better eye.
