Senior Services, Inc. offers activities, entertainment, computer classes, and Wellness programs, including our weekly blood pressure clinic and exercise classes. They work collaboratively to offer safety, support, advocacy, education and a network of services to residents of Washington County. DVRCSC has a confidential safe home for women who face homelessness as a result of domestic violence. Additional services include a Drop-In Advocacy Center, Support Groups and One-on-One Counseling by appointment. They offer education and outreach on the subject of healthy relationships, dating violence, cyber stalking and techno-abuse. Centers for Independent Living teach a wide range of skills needed to live independently and manage life with a disability. CILs work with individuals to increase their skills which can help them gain more control of their lives. Skills training can include basic everyday responsibilities such as: self-care, meal preparation, budgeting, and arranging transportation. It also can address housing needs, teaching individuals the importance of self-advocacy, one’s need for accommodations and/or rights in the community. ***Life skills training is goal directed and does not involve long-term case management or therapeutic intervention. As part of OSCIL’s mission to provide outreach, education and opportunities for peer support, OSCIL offers Lunch and Learn workshops highlighting various solutions that can increase access in your home and community. They are a local nonprofit organization whose operations are guided by a value-driven and compassionate philosophy of treating each resident as a family member. They provide high-quality, personalized care while respecting individual needs and wants, and have been serving Greater East Providence since 1971. Their goal is to provide residents with the opportunity to live comfortably and safely with dignity and respect in a caring community. Each resident has a private apartment varying in size that can accommodate one or two people. Apartments include a kitchenette with stove and refrigerator, individual climate controls, security cameras, cable and phone connections, private bathrooms and amenities such as laundry services, onsite beauty salon, weekly ecumenical religious services, outdoor courtyard garden, fish pond, patio and more.

FACE of Rhode Island is a State of Rhode Island SGO or Scholarship Granting Organization that allows corporations to take tax contributions that will directly benefit the children of Rhode Island families who otherwise would not be able to afford a Catholic education. An SGO is a state approved not-for-profit that collects and distributes corporate tax credit contributions from businesses. The contributions are then used to help economically challenged families choose a Catholic school education for their child.
