Located on the first floor of the Cranston Senior Enrichment Center, the Arlington Branch, formerly named both the Arlington Library and the Arlington Reading Room, was initially founded in the neighborhood district hall with a collection of 500 volumes. Currently, the branch is a popular stop for both pedestrians in the Arlington neighborhood and those visiting the Senior Enrichment Center. The branch was dedicated to the memory of former library trustee Edward Costa in 2018 and renamed the Edward Costa Memorial Arlington Branch.

The mission of the College Crusade is to prepare and inspire young people in Rhode Island to become the first in their families to attend and complete college. Our organization supports approximately 4,000 students in middle school, high school, and college each year. We enroll sixth graders who attend public and public charter schools in Providence, Cranston, Pawtucket, Central Falls, Woonsocket, and West Warwick. From the time they join through their early years of college, Crusaders experience the steady, nurturing presence of caring adults and participate year-round in programs that focus on academic enrichment, social and personal development, career awareness and exploration, and preparation for college. Provides free, voluntary, confidential home visits to pregnant women and families with young children, birth to age three. Trained nurses, social workers, and community health workers meet with families in their homes to talk about their needs, answer questions they may have, and conduct comprehensive assessments. Home visits are based on the needs of the family. Visit topics may include health education and connections with appropriate healthcare services, human services, and community resources. If a child does not have a medical home, we can help the family find one.

Shower to Empower links basic needs such as complimentary showers and haircuts with case management and medical navigation services in a mobile delivery model. It is aimed to provide basic needs and restore dignity to Rhode Island’s experiencing homelessness, ultimately making connections to essential services. The unit is a customized 20’ x 8.3’ trailer that includes two individual showers, heated floors, an area for case management, and an enclosed private medical space. The mobile unit travels throughout Providence alongside House of Hope CDC’s street outreach team providing hot showers, haircuts, case management, and medical navigation services to individuals experiencing homelessness.
