Maternal Child Home Visiting provides child development, health and social services to newborns and their families as well as families with young children. Healthy Families America (HFA) is designed to help parents with understanding and caring for their infant’s needs, building strong parent child connections, breastfeeding and feeding support, and helping children learn and grow to reach their potential. Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a home based program that supports parents by teaching them the skills they need to teach their children and enhance their development and also supports families with monthly community activities and family events. Both programs enrolls pregnant families and families with children up to 4 years old. Both programs are free and help families connect with other services and supports that they feel they need.

Supported services for adults living with severe and persistent mental illness. Thrive’s Residential Services connects adults who are experiencing severe and persistent mental illness with resources and community-based mental health support in a supported housing environment. The philosophy of Residential Services is based on a comprehensive yet intensive approach to treatment that helps residents achieve their highest quality of life. Thrive’s staff help clients learn how to control the symptoms of their mental illness and achieve increased independence in all aspects of their daily lives. Thrive offers two types of supportive living environments: Group Homes and Supervised Apartments.

Helps students identify choice and make effective decisions about their adult lives, which requires substantial planning. RHD-RI School Services, is committed to supporting students and their families to ensure a successful transition from school based services to adulthood. Works in collaboration with schools, families and host employers to create opportunities that address the goals and objectives embedded in a student’s IEP while assisting them with the completion of their Career Development Plan. Resources for Human Development-RI helps adults with developmental disabilities reach their goals. With a strong focus on the arts, RHD works with its Participants to develop new skills, become more integrated in the local community and explore a variety of employment opportunities. RHD also contracts directly with a number of school departments around the state to provide supports for students too young for adult services.

CCAP’s Social Services Department administers the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for Cranston, Scituate and Foster with federal funding earmarked for the state of Rhode Island. LIHEAP is designed to help low-income clients meet the ever-increasing cost of home energy. Payments are made directly to vendors who then credit the client’s account for the amount specified. Eligible clients also qualify for a reduced electric rate as well as a discount on the client’s telephone bill. The Good Neighbor Energy Assistance Fund – The Good Neighbor Energy Fund is administered by United Way of Rhode Island. CCAP is proud to serve as partner and can assist residents in Cranston, Foster, and Scituate in need of utilities assistance throughout the winter months. The program generally runs from November through June. The Good Neighbor Energy Fund is available to any Rhode Islander who, because of financial difficulty, needs assistance paying a current energy expense and meets eligibility guidelines.

McAuley House is the meal site and house of hospitality of McAuley Ministries. They open their doors at 8am Monday through Friday and welcome guests to join them for a day of food, fellowship, program activities, and much needed social services in a safe and comforting atmosphere. Each day, they provide a self-serve breakfast; a nutritious and nourishing lunch with special ingredients from the Healing Foods Project menu; and a full take-away evening meal following our afternoon enrichment program. All guests are served with hospitality, compassion, and dignity in an atmosphere of love and respect. Breakfast is served from 8am to 9:30am; lunch from 11:15am to 1pm; and afternoon program activities are offered from 1:30—3:30pm. McAuley House serves up to 300 people each day.

Fieldstone Apartments is a 24-unit subsidized housing development. Fieldstone serves those with very low income.

All residents and visitors should be protected by smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Free smoke detectors available (and carbon monoxide detectors when available) to low income and handicapped residents of one, two and three-family houses in Providence. Smoke and carbon monoxide detector inspections are required for all new houses and on any homes that are being sold.

Services: Families Reaching Into Each New Day. Friends Way provides free peer based support groups, under the direct supervision of mental health professionals, for children and teens who are mourning the death of a loved one, usually a parent or sibling. We also provide crisis intervention, education and training on the subject of children's grief and loss to schools, mental health professionals, clergy and the community at large.

OneSource is a free service provided by the Department of Defense to service members and their families to help with a broad range of concerns including money management, spouse employment and education, parenting and child care, relocation, deployment, reunion, and the particular concerns of families with special-needs members.They can also include more complex issues like relationships, stress, and grief. The program can be especially helpful to service members and their families who live at a distance from installations.

Federally funded and state administered through our Department, we are committed to providing low-income individuals and families with resources to purchase food.

The mission of the Rhode Island Contractors' Registration and Licensing Board is to safeguard the consumers rights related to contracted improvements to residential property, while providing a fair and positive environment for the construction industry. The CRLB is an agency within the Department of Business Regulation’s, Division of Building, Design, and Fire Professionals. It is responsible for administrating and enforcing the registration and licensing requirements of certain contractors, and protecting the public by investigating complaints by homeowners and issuing fines and penalties for violations of the general laws, rules, and regulations.

Donovan Manor provides information on all nine Newport Housing Authority units, which include low-income elderly, disabled, and family housing.
