Project Learn Adult & Family Literacy Program provides access to services and supports for adult learners to help them achieve their educational and workplace goals. Services for individuals age 16 and up include: ESL Classes, Basic Skills, Pre-GED and GED Classes and NEDP Classes.

Maternal Child Home Visiting provides child development, health and social services to newborns and their families as well as families with young children. Healthy Families America (HFA) is designed to help parents with understanding and caring for their infant’s needs, building strong parent child connections, breastfeeding and feeding support, and helping children learn and grow to reach their potential. Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a home based program that supports parents by teaching them the skills they need to teach their children and enhance their development and also supports families with monthly community activities and family events. Both programs enrolls pregnant families and families with children up to 4 years old. Both programs are free and help families connect with other services and supports that they feel they need.

Purpose is to assist persons to live a deep, meaningful and fulfilling life. Also, clergy coaching, church consulting, and educational programs for groups (parenting, stress reduction, dream work).

The Senior Dining Program provides weekday hot lunches at cafes across the state. The lunches are available to seniors (60+) and disabled adults. The program has no income limits.

We provide a family for children ages 10 to 18. Six to eight boys or girls live in each single-family home with a married couple called Family-Teachers®. In these homes, youth learn social and independent-living skills that help them find success in school and in their community.

To defend the inalienable rights of both companion animals and wildlife through education, legal and legislative activism. Spaying: We sponsor several low-cost spaying/neutering clinics annually; Pet Adoption: Our program is an alternative to local dog pounds and shelters. Defenders works with pet owners that need to find homes for their companion animals. Legal Assistance: Defenders of Animals has assisted individuals with legal research and assistance in obtaining an attorney. Rewards: Defenders offers rewards up to $2000 for information leading to the apprehension, conviction and sentencing of the person(s) guilty of crimes of cruelty. Advocacy: Defenders of Animals will advocate on behalf of stray, abandoned animals and wildlife and pet owners when it is appropriate.

College Leadership Rhode Island (CLRI) is a career readiness program that inspires, educates, and engages a diverse group of student leaders. Family Support Center provides basic needs assistance to low income households and connects families to financial literacy and other programs to strengthen their financial condition. The Family Support Center serves low and moderate income Woonsocket residents depending on eligibility requirements for fund-specific programs.

The mission of the RISPCA is to protect and advocate for the rights and welfare of animals through legal, educational, legislative and investigative means. They provide adoption and rehoming services, veterinary care, humane education, training support and pet owner assistance programs. The Rhode Island SPCA is also the only organization in the state that can legally investigate and prosecute cases of animal cruelty and neglect. They take an active role in legislative matters concerning the welfare of all animals in our state.

Founded in 1971, CODAC Behavioral Healthcare is Rhode Island’s oldest and largest non-profit, outpatient provider of treatment for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). With seven community-based locations, as well as programming at the Rhode Island Department of Corrections (RI DOC), CODAC is well-positioned to deliver services wherever they are needed across the state. CODAC offers psychiatric and mental health services at all of their locations. After an initial intake screening you may be referred to an on-site psychiatric practitioner for further evaluation and treatment. Individualized treatment and recovery plans might include medication management supervised by the psychiatric practitioner and ongoing co-occurring counseling with clinical staff. It is not unusual to have both mental health disorders and a substance use disorder. Because the two conditions are so closely linked, CODAC has responded to offer you effective treatment and recovery programs to address both disorders concurrently.
