Their Home Energy Assistance Program helps those who can’t afford to heat their homes. Through the Congregate Nutrition Program, seniors received a healthy warm meal through their local Senior Centers. Head Start Programs teach the importance of a child’s healthy development so they can grow and thrive! The AmeriCorps Foster Grandparent Program offers a way for individuals 55 and older to stay active by serving children and youth in communities while providing a unique service built on the natural bond between generations. Their AmeriCorps East Bay Retired and Senior Volunteer Program places individuals 55 and older volunteering in many programs and nonprofits in the East Bay area. Their Volunteer Income Tax Program (VITA) provides fee tax preparation for income eligible individuals. Education and Career Pathways helps with educational goals, job readiness skills and improved career options. Their food pantries offer twice monthly food distribution. Senior Services provides options and resources to help income eligible seniors remain in the community. Satellite location of EBCAP. Food Pantry Victims of Crime Act- Advocacy for Crime Victims Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Feeding and Nutrition Program provides food vouchers, allowing them to purchase milk, eggs, cheese, juice and iron fortified cereals and formula. The WIC coordinator provides nutrition education and counseling to all program participants on a monthly basis.

Emergency Shelter. This new program exclusively serves unhoused individuals over 55, and is located in the same facility as Amos House's Emergency Family Shelter for individuals ages 55 and up This program provides emergency and stabilizing wrap-around services to 40 individuals. These services include: daily meals, case management, housing location, medical coordination, behavioral health support and more. Street Outreach Program: Outreach Team works with unsheltered individuals who are at risk for violence, providing them with vital supplies, harm reduction materials, case management, and access to housing and recovery services. Housing Assistance: including help covering utility bills, rental assistance, and other costs associated with securing housing. Funds are limited for this program. Hygiene Packets: Each year, Amos House distributes more than 15,000 individual hygiene packets to men, women, and families. IDs and Birth Certificates: Case Managers help those in need cover the fees and navigate the process to obtain an ID or Birth Certificate. A Hand Up: A day labor program for individuals who are panhandling or at risk of panhandling, AHU offers cash payment for daily work and connects them to supportive services intended to help them access other options and greater opportunities.

The Workers' Compensation Division monitors the workers' compensation system, ensuring that appropriate documents are filed to protect injured workers and employers, that claims are paid correctly, that all required employers have insurance coverage, and that insurance carriers report policy information to the Division. The Division also compiles information about injuries and costs, provides educational services, and investigates fraud. The Robert F. Arrigan Rehabilitation Center provides physical and vocational rehabilitation services for injured workers.
