Services: A small independent day school founded in 1999 to provide a unique educational environment for children with multiple learning differences. The goal was to create a school that would provide children with the opportunity to reach their full academic and social potential. The founding members of the Board, including educators, clinical specialists and a family, created a model that emphasizes the development of core grade level skills taught through a therapeutically guided curriculum. As a result, our students make significant gains academically and socially.

Outreach events will be conducted throughout the state to promote the the programs available under BEC as well as to bring the services to those that need the help. These events will also allow the community members to learn and connect with all the different resources available to them.

Specialized Orthopedic physical therapy operates onsite at our Hope Valley location providing Wood River Health's patients with a convenient option physical therapy related to sports injuries, post-operative therapy, overuse injuries, balance disorders, joint and muscle sprains.

They provide clinical and support services for individuals and families with long-term needs associated with mental illness and substance abuse. Their goal is to help people live as independently and as fully integrated within the community as possible

Provides income for individuals and their families as partial replacement of earnings lost because of old age retirement, disability or death. Benefits and benefit amounts are dependent on contributions and past earnings of covered workers and their employers. Administers SSI program for persons 65 and over; 65 and under if blind or disabled.

Charlestown Animal Control is a municipally run shelter, finding homes for strays and abandoned animals in the Charlestown area.

Support and advocacy for the blind. Monthly meetings focus mainly on advocacy activities such as legislative and public policy development and public education. However, peer support for individuals is available and provided as needed. Purpose of the group is to foster positive attitudes towards blindness for both the blind and sighted communities. Chapters The Greater Providence Chapter of the NFB of RI meets on the second Saturday of each month, except for the months of July and October from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and they are preceded by a social half hour at 10 Office Parkway, in East Providence. The Mount Hope Chapter of the NFB of RI meets on the third Thursday of each month, except for October and December from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, preceded by a social half hour. Meetings are held at the Rogers Free Library, located at 525 Hope Street, in Bristol. Our Adult Basic Education program prepare students to pass the GED (and other high school equivalency programs) and proceed to college-level work and persist in their post-secondary education goals. Students receive developmental education courses in reading and math, as well as courses in writing and computer literacy, in order to first earn a high school equivalency diploma and then be prepared to enter college, a trade school, or a certificate program. The program also includes extensive academic and support services for students to help them reach their educational goals.

Senior Services Inc. has an adult day care program, “A Home for the Day.” This program is available to provide a safe place for you or your loved one to socialize with peers in a supervised, supportive and caring environment. There are also dance and fitness programs.

In addition to 24 hour/seven days a week nursing care, Saint Antoine Residence offers the following special services: Special Care Unit The Special Care Unit is a 60-bed unit for residents with Alzheimer’s and related dementias. The Unit provides a safe, structured environment that meets physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs throughout the disease progression. An emphasis is placed on residents succeeding, dignity, and support of family members. Short Term Rehabilitative Care Short Term Rehabilitative Care is designed for individuals in need of rehabilitation following hip or knee replacement, heart attack, stroke, or other acute medical event. Our goal is to rehabilitate individuals to restore their previous level of functioning with the goal of returning back to their home. Skilled nursing services; on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapies are available. Short term stays range from one week to several weeks, depending upon the individual’s medical condition. Hospice Suite The Hospice Suite provides care for terminally ill individuals who qualify for general inpatient level of care. The Suite affords residents a lovely homelike environment with ample room for visiting family members.

Steere House is an independent non-profit organization, serving adults who require skilled, restorative and long-term care services within a secure and caring environment. The Rhode Island Coordinated Entry System (CES) is a partnership of all of the homeless providers in the state and is initiative of the Rhode Island Continuum of Care. The day to day operations of this program are led by the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless including the call center and shelter and housing placement. Crossroads Rhode Island provides diversion assessments. CES is a standardized assessment and referral process that helps rapidly end each household's homelessness by connecting them with appropriate housing and resources as quickly as possible. RI Housing also oversees the management of 13,000 of subsidized rental housing for low income individuals. A non-profit, managed care organization that offers low cost health insurance to RIte Care and Rhody Health Partners-eligible residents of Rhode Island. Founded by the Community Health Centers and working with a broad network of providers since 1994.

Dorcas International is currently the only agency in Rhode Island that is authorized by the U.S. Department of State to resettle refugees arriving to the U.S. From airport pick-up to securing housing, providing cultural orientation and intensive case management, health screenings, and enrolling children in school and adults in our in-house Educating and Training Program, we serve the immediate needs of resettled refugees. Our goal is to empower recently arrived refugees by providing them with the necessary tools and information to successfully transition into their new communities. The U.S. government places refugees in 49 states by working with none private non-profit national agencies, and Dorcas International is an affiliate partner of one of these official agencies.

First Connections at Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice provides free, voluntary, confidential home visits in to pregnant women and families with young children. Conduct home visits: Trained nurses, social workers, and community health workers meet with families in their homes to talk about their needs, answer questions they may have, and conduct comprehensive assessments. If needed, home visitors can make arrangements for interpretation services during home visits. If you are an expecting parent, you may be contacted after the birth of your child to arrange a home visit. Engage families who may benefit from home visits. Link families with medical homes and social services: Home visits are based on the needs of the family. Visit topics may include health education and connections with appropriate healthcare services, human services, and community resources. If a child does not have a medical home, VNHH can help the family find one. Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice can also conduct child wellness screenings and communicate the results with the child’s healthcare provider. Offers Outpatient individual, group and family counseling; preparation for independent living, case management and community support services. In addition to skills-building, we provide support to prepare job seekers for the work world, job placement assistance and education supports. Financial Education & Coaching: Includes group training, one‐on‐one coaching, budgeting, credit repair, help with opening a checking or savings account, home ownership, mortgage default or reverse mortgage counseling, and free tax preparation.
