A resource center for children, families and caregivers struggling with Epilepsy on a daily basis. To provide funding for Epilepsy research, education, awareness and scholarships for children with Epilepsy. The resource center awards scholarships to high school seniors, a week long camp, research, lecture series, hospital presentations and special events for epilepsy. Offers support and outreach to families affected by epilepsy throughout Rhode Island. Provides Information, advocacy, and education in a variety of ways, including:

• Parent Coordinator: an informed understanding advocate who is available to offer support, answer questions, and help families connect with other families living with epilepsy.

• Family Support Group: a monthly, Discovering M.E. (My Epilepsy), designed to give children who have seizures, along with their parents and sibling, a supportive and fun setting to for helping each other understand the many life changes associated with epilepsy.

• Educational Coordinator: promotes epilepsy awareness and education, including school programs and specialized workshops for school nurses and teachers which focus on identifying seizure activity, understanding how seizures affect learning, and teaching safety protocol to follow when a child has a seizure at school.

• Camp Matty: a week long therapeutic horseback riding summer day camp for children with epilepsy.

The meetings are drop-in groups and offers support to abused women. Confidentiality is stressed and women may come once or often. The focus is on better understanding of the abuse problem, be it emotional, physical or sexual, current or past. The goal is empowerment of the individual.

PACE Organization of Rhode Island is a not-for-profit health plan that offers services for qualifying adults age 55 and older. These older adults all have complex health needs but want to remain at home. As the insurer, provider, and coordinator of health care and wellness, PACE-RI tailors care plans to meet each participant’s individual needs through a range of service offerings. These services can be delivered in the home, at our health clinics and day centers, and beyond, providing great peace of mind for participants and their caregivers. Since 2005, PACE-RI has served more than 2,000 participants and their families across Rhode Island. The MME counselors provide person-centered options counseling to Medicare-Medicaid individuals to ensure that they receive clear, unbiased, and consumer friendly information and one-on-one counseling to help them make informed decisions about options they have for receiving their Medicare and Medicaid benefits. Best Buddies Friendship programs build one-to-one friendships between people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), offering social mentoring while improving the quality of life and level of inclusion for a population that is often isolated and excluded. Through their participation, people with IDD form meaningful connections with their peers, gain self-confidence and self-esteem, and share interests, experiences and activities that many other individuals enjoy. They offer e-Buddies: a safe place online to develop one-to-one friendships between people with and without IDD. By joining e-Buddies, participants become more comfortable using technology to communicate with friends, gain computer literacy skills, and are better equipped to socialize online in the future.

a vision loss workshop called Understanding Vision Loss- offered at least once per month, designed for people with a visual impairment and family members, friends, or caregivers who want to learn more about the services available for remaining independent. The workshop covers common eye diseases that cause visual impairments, the process people go through while trying to adapt to living with vision loss, the key tools, services, and resources available to help people maintain their independence, and how to connect to these resource resources.
