College Visions is a FREE program that provides low-income and first-generation students with one-on-one advising and resources to get in, succeed,and graduate from college. Beginning the summer before senior year of high school, students are assigned aCV advisor and work on college essays, resumes, scholarships, the financial aid process, and more. CV students participate in weekly meetings with their advisor, attendcollege visits, receive SAT fee waivers,and engage in workshops focused on the college process. Once admitted into college, our students receive support throughout their college career until they graduate

One of the key services OSCIL provides is advocacy both for individuals and within the community as a whole. Advocacy is central to a Center for Independent Living’s mission. CILs offers both individual and systems advocacy. Individual advocacy is assisting an individual with a disability to protect his or her rights or to fight for needed resources. Through systems advocacy, we advance civil rights and equal access for all persons with disabilities on the local, state and federal levels. SYSTEMS ADVOCACY Our Independent Living Coordinators keep up-to-date on programs and legislation which may affect people with disabilities. Consumers are encouraged to contact their community leaders and legislators to inform them of their views on various programs and legislative issues. INDIVIDUAL ADVOCACY We work with people with disabilities to teach valuable self-advocacy skills, including: Learning the rights that they have already and making effective use of those rights. Learning how to effectively communicate their needs to both maintain the rights they already have and to make advancement in expanding the rights of persons with disabilities. OSCIL staff will also work with consumers to advocate for services to meet individual needs, including helping to understand the function and processes (necessary criteria, application process, deadlines, etc.) for Social Security, Vocational Rehabilitation, Medicare/Medicaid, and other service agencies.

Assisted Daily Living, Inc. provides clients with a wide array of services designed to ensure superior patient care in the familiar comfort of home, often providing a happier and more affordable alternative to nursing, or assisted living facilities. Services can be arranged for a few hours a week or around the clock. ADL begins by reviewing the specific needs of the client through discussions with family members, as well as the care recipient's doctor, social workers or therapists. A customized program of care is developed to manage the client's daily needs. ADL will match the clients needs to the best possible caregiver, based on both professional experience and on ability characteristics. THERAPIST'S - PT, OT, ST: Therapists including physical therapists, occupational and speech therapists assist in the rehabilitation of those with physical injuries or disease. Restoration of mobility, strength, dexterity, balance and communication skills is often the purpose for therapy. Helping individuals who are disabled by physical injuries or disease to regain maximum function with activities of daily living is always a main priority.

Concord Visiting Nurses is the skilled component of the company. Skilled nurses and therapists provided by Concord Visiting Nurses treat clients recovering from an inpatient stay, requiring rehabilitation after an injury or illness, and wound and ostomy care and various other skilled services.

Educating and inspiring the youth within our communities by promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle through instructional and adventurous activities. We develop responsible citizens using the volunteer resources of a civilian and military partnership. The teamwork and esprit-de-corps enjoyed by the Young Marines help them discover the hero within.

Services: Provides outpatient rehabilitation programs to people of all ages with a wide range of functional disabilities caused by accident, illness, or developmental delay. Programs offered are day school program for children ages 3 - 21, with language/learning disorders and brain injury; brain injury day treatment program for adult clients; comprehensive outpatient program and vocational rehabilitation services. Offers evaluation and treatment in audiology, speech/language therapy, special education, occupational/physical therapy, psychological/social services and vocational training. Special features include non-commercial advice on hearing aids, augmentative communication systems, group treatment services, parent workshops, support groups and consult services. The RI Professional Development Center (PD Center) delivers high-quality, research-based professional development and technical assistance to Rhode Island’s adult education programs and practitioners. Through its leadership and partnerships, the PD Center seeks to support, enhance and promote the network of quality educational opportunities for Rhode Island's adult learners.System.

The Working Wardrobe is Westbay’s clothing collaborative. The program provides free work-appropriate clothing to low-income adults entering the workforce.

The Center provides hearing testing for about 600 people each year as well as hearing aid assistance for several hundred clients. In addition, about 40 evaluations are conducted annually related to speech therapy needs and approximately 60 clients per year are seen for on-going therapeutic services. Services include (but are not limited to) diagnostic hearing tests, hearing aid evaluations and dispensation; aural rehabilitation; assessment of and treatment for voice, articulation, fluency, and language disorders; communication and cognitive therapy for adults with neurological disorders resulting from strokes or traumatic brain injuries; and programs to improve fluency for ESL clients.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors Rhode Island is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families stay in their homes through a variety of ways, primarily by providing necessary home repairs and modifications. NHN RI offers services including building wheelchair ramps, painting houses indoor or out, repairing porches or steps, patching roofs, and fixing windows. All of these can make real differences to neighbors in need. Necessary home repairs are often left undone when people are faced with the need to stretch their paycheck, disability check, or Social Security income. In some cases, completing this work is the only way people are able to stay in their homes and remain independent.

Steere House is an independent non-profit organization, serving adults who require skilled, restorative and long-term care services within a secure and caring environment. Steere House also provides educational and research experiences that enhance the care of those we serve. Provides demonstrations, training, and long-term loan and device reutilization services of specialized telephone equipment to qualified individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, have a speech disability, or have neuromuscular damage or disease, which hinders them from using a standard telephone.
