Services: Carries the basic responsibility for receiving, holding and disbursing the funds of the state; issues all general obligation notes and bonds; under the direction of the retirement board (serves as chairman), the General Treasurer is charged with the establishment and maintenance of such accounts and statistical records as the retirement board may require; maintains custody of unclaimed property; oversees the regulation and licensing of precious metals dealers and transient vendors.
