Village House offers the comforts of home for those who need short-term recuperation or rehabilitation following a hospital stay. They also offer long-term care for those with chronic conditions or respite care when family caregivers need someone to step into their shoes for a short time. For those with a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia, the special care rooms provide the peace of mind that only a secure environment staffed by those specially trained in Alzheimer’s and dementia care can provide. Trained nurses, social workers, and community health workers meet with families in their homes to talk about their needs, answer questions they may have, and conduct comprehensive assessments. Home visits are based on the needs of the family. Visit topics may include health education and connections with appropriate healthcare services, human services, and community resources. If a child does not have a medical home, we can help the family find one.

The Rhode Island Pharmaceutical Assistance to Elders (RIPAE) Program pays a portion of the cost of RIPAE-approved medications purchased during the Deductible stage of a Part D plan. There are four levels to this program; levels 1-3 are for older adults 65+ and older, and level 4 is for adults 55-64 who are disabled. Annual income(s) determine into which level of the program individuals are enrolled.
