This support group is facilitated by Arthur Mercurio of the Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities (CADD) at Bradley Hospital. It is free and meets the second Monday of each month. Services include a full range of mental health and special educational programs for children with emotional and/or developmental disabilities. Residential school for boys, grades seven through twelve. Offering a full high school diploma, the school is licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). In addition, we offer a certified special education program and career/technical education programming. Our student body is comprised of Ocean Tides residential students and students referred by their school district for education purposes (both regular and special education). Each candidate is screened by the Director of Special Education and the Principal before admittance to ensure the student is ready and willing to enter the program. Given the severe educational difficulties these students have experienced in the past, Ocean Tides seeks to provide creative, individualized programs that meet the needs of all in our care. We provide: Positive behavior program and multiple positive behavioral supports, including stipends paid to students. A small school atmosphere – four to twelve students per class Individualized instruction based on IEP’s Career to Work – experience and work study at all grade levels Individual and / or group counseling The Narragansett Campus offers Career/Technical education in areas such as: Culinary Arts, Carpentry/Building Maintenance, Landscape Design, Auto Detailing, Cosmetology, Horticulture, Small Engines, Woodturning, and Woodworking, Auto CAD, HTML-Web Page Design, and Video Production. Programs Include: Traditional Program - The Traditional Mentoring Program matches at-risk girls and boys between the ages of 7 and 15, in long-term, one-to-one relationships with adult female and male volunteer mentors. �Big Mentor League� Program - This is a special program provided by Big Sisters of Rhode Island, in partnership with the Urban League of Rhode Island and Rhode Island Mentoring Partnership working with girls & boys who have a parent currently incarcerated. The girls/boys range in age from 4 to 18 years old and are from all over Rhode Island. Hermana(o) a Hermana(o) - BBBSOS matches Latina girls/Latino boys with mentors. The girls/boys are considered to be at-risk for academic failure or delinquency or lacking a strong role model. School-Based Mentoring - This program provides mentorship to both girls and boys after class at their school. This program provides a structured environment to assist in academic success. Donation Center - The BSRI Donation Center provides a sustained source of revenue for the vital social service activities of the agency by collecting donations of gently used clothing, household items, small appliances, books and toys (also accepts TV's, computers, and other large electronics for a $10 processing fee) through a combination of scheduled home pick-ups, on-site clothing drop-offs, and targeted community clothing drives.

Provides demonstrations, training, and long-term loan and device reutilization services of specialized telephone equipment to qualified individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, have a speech disability, or have neuromuscular damage or disease, which hinders them from using a standard telephone. Assistive Technology Many people with disabilities face barriers that prevent them from living independently in their homes, and in many cases, they are also unaware of the many devices that can improve their daily lives. OSCIL works with individuals to acquire appropriate devices and provide training on the use of those devices to enhance the individual’s independence within their home and community. Assistive Technology Access Partnership (ATAP) OSCIL is one of 4 partners participating in the Assistive Technology Access Partnership (ATAP) program. ATAP is designed as a statewide partnership of organizations, each with a targeted assistive technology focus, working together to improve access to and acquisition of assistive technology for individuals with disabilities. Some programs may have income limits. An OSCIL Independent Living Coordinator will be happy to guide you and recommend the best program for your unique needs. OSCIL CAN PROVIDE YOU WITH THE SMART HOME TECHNOLOGY TO MODIFY YOUR HOME TO HELP YOU REACH YOUR GOALS AND INDEPENDENTLY CONTROL YOUR ENVIRONMENT. Individuals with disabilities may apply for technology through this program. This includes devices such as: -Smart locks -Video doorbells -Alerting systems -Smart hubs and 2 months of connectivity needed to control the devices. Scalabrini Villa has designated the Country Unit as a secured Memory Care Unit. This unit specializes in the care of residents with memory loss and dementia related diagnoses. This Special Care Unit has been developed with a team of professionals who are specialists in the disease process and its’ management. All staff involved in the Memory Care unit receive extensive training giving them the background to develop the therapeutic techniques needed to apply to the various behaviors residents demonstrate, and to understand the traumatic impact of dementia on family caregivers. This unit offers two levels of activity programs daily; evening activities, a newly developed sensory room and an outdoor herbal garden/planters. The goal of the Country Unit is to enhance the independence, safety and dignity of the participants despite their progressive cognitive and functional losses.

The Rhode Island Academy of Family Physicians (RIAFP) is a 189-active, 13 Life, 50 Resident, and 400 student member of the Rhode Island affiliate of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the largest primary care physician organization in the United States. RIAFP supports ongoing physician education, works with residents in primary care, and advocates public policies to improve the health care system. RIAFP works with the RI Medical Society and the RI Department of Health, to achieve those aims. Members staff private practices and community health centers, deliver babies, make home visits, and treat patients at every hospital in Rhode Island. Doctors work with schools, day care centers, nursing homes, and care for entire families from every community in the state.
