Blackstone Valley Community Health Care offers behavioral health treatment to support the emotional wellbeing of each patient. The Behavioral Health team works closely with primary care providers to screen and assess the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of each patient. Counseling treatment is provided by highly trained Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Licensed Mental Health Counselors. Services include: Individual Therapy, 1:1 support for patients to help address mental health challenges to change or improve quality of life; Group Therapy allows patients to receive support from our behavioral health clinicians and other members of the group, helping them to feel less alone or isolated; Referral Services for those in need of more intensive, wrap-around services than BVCHC can provide, connecting to local community resources; Peer Recovery Coaching, offered by a certified recovery specialist to provide insight into the recovery process and help patients become and stay engaged in the recovery process to reduce the likelihood of relapse; Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) an evidence-based practice used to identify, reduce, and prevent problematic use, abuse, and dependence on alcohol and illicit drugs.

THE SCITUATE ANIMAL SHELTER is a municipal facility under the supervision of Scituate Animal Control, a division of the Scituate, Rhode Island Police Department. They take in animals from Scituate and Foster and provide care until we can find good homes for them. They also socialize all cats and dogs who need such work in order to be ready for life in a home and with a family. The shelter staff and the volunteers will go to great lengths to find homes for all animals that we have at the shelter.

Saint Elizabeth Adult Day Centers helps families keep their loved ones at home by providing a wide array of supportive services during the day within a secure and nurturing environment.

Nationally recognized for its outstanding design, Waterplace Park is the focal point of Providence's revitalized downtown. This four-acre urban park surrounding a tidal basin features an amphitheater, landscaped terraces, and boat landings. A series of Venetian bridges connects downtown Providence to the city's historic East Side. From here you can board a river boat or glide in a gondola down Providence's redesigned rivers. Waterplace Park is also the site of special events such as concerts and the acclaimed WaterFire.

Clothes To Kids Rhode Island is a year-round program, and clients may shop twice in a 12-month period. Families are welcome to shop with or without the children. Each client shops for 5 pairs of new underwear and socks, 5 tops, 4 pants/shorts/skirts, 1 jacket/coat, and 1 pair of shoes

Neighbors Helping Neighbors Rhode Island is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families stay in their homes through a variety of ways, primarily by providing necessary home repairs and modifications. NHN RI offers services including building wheelchair ramps, painting houses indoor or out, repairing porches or steps, patching roofs, and fixing windows. All of these can make real differences to neighbors in need. Necessary home repairs are often left undone when people are faced with the need to stretch their paycheck, disability check, or Social Security income. In some cases, completing this work is the only way people are able to stay in their homes and remain independent.

RI Hospitality Education Foundation provides trainings in several areas of the Hospitality industry including food safety, food management, alcohol serving, and hotel operations

They help Veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless due to financial hardship, unemployment, addiction, depression or transition from jail. Oakland Grove Health Care Center offers short-term rehabilitation, long-term, respite, hospice and dementia care. The dedicated staff provides individualized care with compassion, dignity and respect. Washington County Community Development Corporation provides decent affordable housing for residents of Washington County. Programs: Home Repair Program - WC CDC manages the popular Home Repair program for all towns in Washington County, as well as West Greenwich and Exeter. This program provides grants and loans to income eligible home owners. These grants and loans are intended to ensure folks remain in their homes by performing reasonable and necessary repairs. We focus on code violations, health and safety issues, and any other repairs needed to maintain a healthy safe and sanitary dwelling. Help with roof, window, electric, plumbing and structural repairs that are necessary for your health and safety. Septic and well replacement programs are also available. Housing Preservation Grants - WC CDC provides grants awarded through USDA Rural Development. These grants supplement the CDBG Home Repair Program in rural towns in Washington County. CDBG Management - WC CDC manages the Community Development Block Grants for 9 Towns. These grants are utilized by non profits throughout the region to provide services and /or improve public facilities. WC CDC services include: Applications, State Contracts, Environmental Reviews, Sub recipient contracts, Payments, Reporting and Documentation, Affordable Housing Development. WC CDC has developed 124 units of affordable housing since 2005, by either partnering with another non profit or on our own. A private, nonsectarian, not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization that supports individuals in their recovery from mental illness and co-occurring disorders (i.e., substance use, developmental disability, related chronic health conditions). Provides access to support and resources for individuals to lead self-determined, independent, and fulfilling lives as contributing members of the community. Assists people of all ages to improve their behavioral health, well-being, and quality of life. Licensed professionals conduct individual assessments and develop person-centered treatment plans. Individuals are seen by a psychiatrist or a psychiatric nurse practitioner for medication management, and individual and group therapy are available. Providence Center-(Prairie) Provides: behavioral health services ranging from emergency services, general and intensive community-based outpatient treatment, substance use treatment, and other services. They may offer vocational and supported employment services, navigators who can help you get health insurance, tax preparation assistance, and housing supports. If receiving services as a child, assistance with transition to adult services or programs are provided within or outside the agency. The Community Mental Health Centers are regionally based as indicated below. However, as a Rhode Island resident, you may access services at any CMHC. Anyone experiencing a crisis can walk into a Community Mental Health Center during their normal business hours and they will provide treatment. The Gaming and Athletics section is responsible for supervising the enforcement of laws related to licensing and regulation of gaming and athletics activities, including boxing, mixed martial arts, and simulcast wagering. It is also responsible for the collection of racing taxes and fees, as specified by state law. The division promulgates rules and regulations governing pari-mutuel wagering, boxing, and mixed martial arts; handles licensing, finger printing and photo badging of all personnel and licensees; ensures that security is furnished by licensees of pari-mutuel facilities, boxing, and mixed martial arts events; and provides aid and assistance to the public, as requested, including forms and copies of rules and regulations. The section also oversees simulcast-wagering operations at Twin River Casino Hotel and Tiverton Casino Hotel and/or participates in collection of tax revenue, hearings and issues occupational licenses. The section enforces, adjusts, amends, and interprets all rules and regulations governing pari-mutuel wagering sports and all professional boxing and mixed martial arts events in the state.

Lifetime Medical Support Services provides physical therapy services to patients in the home.

Rhode Island's Early Intervention Program promotes the growth and development of infants and toddlers who have a developmental disability or delay in one or more areas. Developmental disabilities or delays can affect a child’s speech, physical ability, or social skills. Children referred to the Early Intervention Program receive a comprehensive developmental evaluation to determine if they are eligible. One of the goals of Early Intervention is to provide support to families so their children can develop to their fullest potential. Services are provided in places where children usually play or take part in daily activities.

The Pharmacy Outreach Program is committed to providing the Rhode Island community with the latest, most complete information regarding medications. The program services multiple aspects of the community’s medication needs. The Medication Information Line is a toll-free resource for medication information. Staffed by pharmacists, this confidential service provides Rhode Islanders with answers concerning medications and drug therapy in addition to responding to topical health issues. This program is designed to supplement the informational services offered by community pharmacists, physicians and other health care workers. Offered in the housing units of the elderly, disabled, and needy, residents can take advantage of our monthly on-site scheduled visits. We are available to discuss medication questions and concerns, provide educational information concerning medications and disease states, and monitor blood pressure.
