The Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County works toward a future free from violence. They work collaboratively to offer safety, support, advocacy, education and a network of services to residents of Washington County. DVRCSC has a confidential safe home for women who face homelessness as a result of domestic violence. Additional services include a Drop-In Advocacy Center, Support Groups and One-on-One Counseling by appointment. They offer education and outreach on the subject of healthy relationships, dating violence, cyber stalking and techno-abuse. DVRCSC can provide Court Advocates at McGrath Judicial Complex in Wakefield.

Sparrows Point I Apartments—a project based Section 8 Development designed for the Elderly (62 years of age and older) and/or person with disabilities under 62 years of age. The community consists of (151 apts.) 135 one bedroom and 16 two bedroom apartments and is smoke free.

YPI is committed to building a strong and vocal community of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQQ) youth and their allies to ensure that they are heard and accepted as members and leaders in our community. Youth, ages 13-23, are encouraged to hang out in YPIs Drop-In Center, participate in activities and programming, or use other services such as tutoring or support services. YPI’s drop-in center is a hang out space for LGBTQQ young people and their allies. Play some games, eat a healthy meal, get support and make new friends in a welcoming environment! There’s something different happening every day so come take a dance class, participate in a workshop, do yoga or talk about changing the world. Or just hang out! University Heights is a mixed property with market rates and also participates in the Housing Tax Credit Program This affordable housing program is for individuals and families with moderate incomes allowing below market rents for those who qualify. The program is not a subsidized housing program as each resident is responsible for their full amount of rent each month. Rental amounts are based on the pre-set income limits in the geographic area and not based on your individual household income. To be income eligible, your total household income must be less than the pre-set income limit for the area.

Services: Long term residence for women who are homeless due to battering or addiction. We offer a variety of services including counseling, education, life skills, etc.

Common Sense Parenting (CSP) is a practical, skill-based program that provides easy-to-learn techniques to help with today's parenting challenges. CSP offers training for parents who want to build on their existing skills to learn new ways of dealing with their children's behaviors. CSP classes are two-hour sessions once a week over multiple weeks, based on the age of the child.

Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center offers short-term, safe, confidential shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children. Residents are provided with all basic needs and are encouraged to participate in a program that includes education about domestic violence, parenting and financial literacy. Provides specialized children’s services, advocacy and referrals. 16 bed capacity, NOT handicap accessible. Services Available: Case management; Crisis intervention (on-site); Domestic violence support and education; Housing search and education; Budgeting and financial literacy; 3 meals per day. Weatherization improves the energy efficiency of homes and apartments. The Weatherization crew checks for energy use, insulation, air leaks, and safety hazards. Then they perform cost-effective improvements, such as installing insulation, smoke detectors, or caulking. Appliance Management Program (AMP) AMP helps clients use less electricity and water. The program provides energy-saving lightbulbs, faucet aerators, and appliances. AMP is funded by National Grid. Heating System Replacement Program The Heating System Replacement Program repairs or replaces old, broken, or inefficient home heating systems. This program is available for owner-occupied buildings only.
