The James L. Maher Center operates residential programs for its participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities. New Meadows is one of 11 group homes for adults with developmental disabilities in several East Bay and Aquidneck Island communities. Programs and supports in each group home are customized to the needs of residents with differing abilities.
The facility is staffed with professionals who have the special skills and experience required to attend to the needs of the residents of the group home. In all cases, staff are careful to match participants with residential support program that will help to ensure a positive outcome.

Assault Prevention Program offers personal safety programs to students in preschool through college. Day One serves victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and other violent crimes. Services include the 24-hour Victims of Crime Helpline; crisis intervention, individual and group counseling for children and adults, advocacy (including legal advocacy) for victims and their families. Also, the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), the RI Children's Advocacy Center, prevention education and a new Family Foster Care Treatment Program for sexually abused children in foster care and their foster families.

City of Warwick’s Transwick service provides transportation services to otherwise homebound Warwick residents 55 and older who are living independently, as well as adults with disabilities living independently. Transwick addresses the transportation needs of those without alternate means of transportation or other opportunities for socialization. This service is limited to certain destinations within the City of Warwick and is not intended to supplement, extend, or subsidize services provided by other vendors or for-profit institutions.
The following is a list of all of the destinations you may reach through the Transwick program based on availability: Weekly grocery shopping, Pharmacy Transportation, Health screenings and social service programs at Warwick's senior center, Monthly retail shopping, All recreational and educational programs at the city's senior and community centers. Other special needs trips such as: McDermott Pool exercise programs, Visits to the RI Department of Human Services / Warwick Family Center (two week notice required), Banking (two week notice required), Recreation Trips (special pricing)
Transportation options and services in Warren, contact RIPTA. The town of Warren provides senior bus transportation Monday through Friday to residents 60 years and older, or younger disabled, at no cost for shopping, doctor's appointments, and transportation to the Senior Center.

The East Greenwich Police Department has 32 police officers, an animal control officer, parking control officer, 5 dispatchers, an administrative assistant and a secretary. The officers have received CPR, Automatic Emergency Defibrillator and first aid training.
The Department has a complete Bureau Criminal Identification unit, a Traffic Accident Reconstructionist and a Tactical Special Response Team. Many officers are graduates of the University of Rhode Island Criminalist School, with training in scientific investigation, photography and fingerprinting.
